Get A Lot More Profitable with A Faster Windows XP
A slow personal computer should be a thing of the past. With advancement in innovations and technology, having a slow computer will really make you feel living in the Jurassic era. It is for this reason that people always try to look how to speed up their computers.
If you are experiencing this, then this is the timely place. Its true that there are several ways involve in speeding up a PC. But hey, these easy sacrifices are always worth it.
Here is some of the tweaking I did to speed up my Windows:
> Getting bored with the menu delays is really annoying. Decrease the time to load menu transitions through right clicking your desktop. Select Properties and Select the Effects tab. Unmark the Animate windows menu lists. For those who use Windows XP, you can do this by right-clicking on the desktop, clicking Properties, selecting the Appearance tab, selecting the Effects option and deselect Use the following transition effects for menus and tooltips, then Click OK.
> Speed up Windows Start Up by removing out the softwares you dont need at start-up. For those who use Windows 98, this could be done by Start menu and clicking Run. Type in MSConfig.exe and hit OK button Hit the Start up tab then deselect the softwares you choose to stopthrough the startup. As you see, you may be able to speed start up Windows if you cut down the softwares that computer needs to run.
> Defragment also helps to speed up your PC. Look for the defrag option under your System Tools menu from the Accessories or Start Tab. Make sure that you give a time for defragging. Operating varied applications while on defrag limits the process itself.
> Selecting to install your software would be best if you usually encounter script and other minor errors. Run a virus scan before you back up all of your important files In addition, make sure that you have a copy of your hardware drivers and program installers before trying to delete the contents of your hard drive Installing again your software takes at least an hour or so
> This is a very basic tip that you should regularly do: Remove any unused programs. Applications, even if you are using them or not, take up space in your hard disk. If you arent utilizing them, then is there still a need to keep them?
